Staff Training Unit

The Staff Training Unit (STU) was started in 1974 with a view to promote professional competency among the staff of various organizations within and outside the State of Karnataka. The STU is organizing institutional training courses, field oriented training programmes for personnel of government, quasi-government and private organizations.

Mandates

To organize need based training programmes to the Staff of University, Developmental Departments and Allied Institutions
To develop Training Programmes in terms of content and appropriate methods.
To coordinate between the University and the Sponsoring Agencies.

Staff Training Unit also organizes State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI-South), Agri Clinics and Agri Business Centers Scheme (AC&ABC), Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) and Certificate Course on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM).

State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI- South)

SAMETI-South main objective is to organize state level the training programmes to the extension workers and capacity building to Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) stakeholders.

Mandates

To Organize needs based training programmes to the staff of Government, private and Non-government organizations.
To develop Quality Resource Materials
To provide consultancy and guidance in project planning, implementation, evaluation etc
To organize Exposure Visit of Extension Functionaries and PRI Members to progressive states.

Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres (ACABC)

Conducting “Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centre” in collaboration with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad since 2002.

Mandates

To organize 45 days duration training programme for Agri graduates of state Agricultural Universities
To facilitate the Agri-ventures of AC&ABC trained candidates

Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI)

Organizing one year duration Diploma in “Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers” in collaboration with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad and Karnataka State Department of Agriculture (KSDA).

Certificate Course on Integrated Nutrient Management (CCINM)

Organizing 15 days duration Certificate Course on “Integrated Nutrient Management” in collaboration with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, Karnataka State Department of Agriculture (KSDA) and other Organizations.
